Hey mc thanks for all the words! XD.

Your sooo right...never poach! i scout and do not poach. poaching is bad. I mostly just keep my eye out for nutty lonewolvers like me that can have fun and have a general idea of how a squad works. Hehe at this point its like a bunch of stoned monkeys drinking beer and trolling choppers. I'm loving the other clans i run into on the servers these last few weeks. nah is a fun one, first legion...OLD...even seen some DOG's.. Respect for all the communitys that are keeping bf2 alive. Praise to their chips! wink

Ahhhh the endless lament about the so very skilled pilots... I feel you m8.. And there simply is no easy answer..Choppers will kill you. But over time and with practice they will certainly kill you less... Well in my case they just want to kill me even more since i tend to taunt them...wich makes them want to kill me even more...... wich drives me to become even better. so its a sorta weird positive feedback loop..

In any case i will let you know when i got the voice done. say hi to suze. Shes doing a great job backing you up. Sorry if i can be a bit relentless when you two play against me...but captain gotta teach!

If we don't see each other before xmas HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A FRAGTASTIC NEW YEAR!

Hi Prowler
Even if I do not make it back on the servers over the next few weeks I will drop in on the forums from time to time. smiling There are quite a few good clans about and I am surprised they do not take each other on as they all seem quite friendly. A word of warning about one of the bigger clans you mentioned in your post though as one or two of the clan members are not past having one of there friends joining your side and spotting for the opposing team. I am sure it is just done in fun but we have stopped playing there as it became a bit obvious. I am not naming names as I am sure you will work it out and the vast majority of them are fair players.
I can see from your last post you are still determined to take those flyers out of the sky and I would love to see it done but in the meantime if you are trying to get your KD ratio up (I saw that mentioned in a different post) avoid the US team in Wake Island, statistically it was a nightmare for most of our original/ex players.
As for relentless when playing against us, no problem for every kill there has to be a death and we have and still do enjoy playing with or against you but..."captain gotta teach"... sounds like challenge..smiling That just might tempt us back us on sooner than later. smiling

heya mc wink.

Really? spy's? that is hilarious... amount of time they have to take to communicate all the movements.. I see how iit 'could work''... Though far from practical... The spy would be giving up his points while his friends gain more... Still.. nice thing to be aware off...potentially.... Now that i think about it... i have noticed being spotted as infantry right as i was about to spring my trap... your sitting somewhere in ambush and out of nowhere you get another hole in your head by a jet. Anyway.. Trolls will be trolls. I don't mind them as long as they don't use aimbots they basically harmless. There is actually a tactical win to gain from getting the other team to waste time chatting in local chat. I call it psych warfare. (remember you can run and type. run then hit the channel button and type.. you will keep running. then say something nutz and watch them react.)

And yes... my ears are totally focused on the chopper pilots.. Ive been saying ''poke'' to them a lot when i land a erix on them as they hunting me. They squirly sons a bitches though... but i been training myself to fire the erix of the hip when dancing with choppers around buildings. Wake island has a few good spots for it. Dragon valley not so much... Sharky is perfect for it. Lot of buildings. plenty of time to get under them. I might be enjoying my chopper hunting a tad to much...but hey smiling Someone has gotta do it not?

Its not that i hate choppers.. i just love the challenge.. just me and Swirley (my doa12) and my trusty erix (dumbdumb). running all over the map like a moron and hunting choppers and jets on foot simply because i think i can.

OW and for the usa wake island thing.... Think i found a good way to land at the beach or the airfield with a boat... thing you do is go strait out from the ship right to the edge of the map and just hug the map line. You got plenty of ocean there, enough for them to not be able to see you when they looking straight out in front of them. As long as the jets and choppers are kept busy its a sure way.. chopper tends to be a ass though since its heli pad is like right there on that beach line. Make sure another team is storming the north leg of wake island and you will have a great way to break the stalemate. Plant your team leader between beach and airfield and then let your squad reap havoc while the other side is still fighting of the other team on the the north leg. They key is proper usage of the squad leader. And all this in no way a sure bet... wake island as USA is simply a tough cookie to crack. But when you do manage to get to eat that cookie the taste is really sweet. There also a lot of stretches of beach and hills where you can get plenty of doa12 kills. As long as you can break line of sight with your target your target can not shoot you wink This can be as easy as just going prone right behind a hill edge.. sometimes you will be dancing around tree trunks.. just so you can close that gap to thank that person with a couple of loads from Swirley. ( just talking about it makes me want to play XD).

''CAPTIAN GOTTA TEACH!'' was a reference to guardians of the galaxy where the Ravager captain has to teach Will a lesson so he can become a better ravager https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo9MxO5llgk XD But yes.. if i would take it easy on you and the others i would be doing you and them a disfavor.. not to mention myself.. only through challenge do we become better then we are. May take a couple times.. but every time you fail your brain starts to work.

I'm hunting a lot on the wake island servers these weeks (hence the insights) so yes feel tempted to come and teach me a lesson! wink Also goes for you SuzieQ. (such a great nick)

Me and Swirley will be waiting for ya wink ready to paint the town red.

Oww!! i finally figured out why people chuckle at my **OF** tag.. All they see is Only Fans. XD Gutter brains! all of them XD. gonna keep it though... who knows i might even create more **OF** tag carriers just for the fun of it. Only Fans...XD... hilarious.

Hi Prowler
We have been using the edge of the map trick from the carrier for a while and it does work but we wait in position off shore up by the airfield then the other squad member runs a distraction by circling a second boat around the front of carrier. If they can stay alive for just over 25 seconds we can get on (as we did when we joined you last week). It's a nuisance if your caught though as it takes us just under 4 minutes to get in position. unhappy Not that we have timed it though...lol. smiling

LOL great minds think alike. Yes the time to get in position is way to long to make it effective.. one jet and your back to square one. I use it as a last resort thing. Personally i like the bailing out of a jet as a squad leader more. Quick and direct..(like in my wake island sweet spot vid) though with all the jet junkies standing in line i find myself stuck to a boat a lot. They want to actually fly.. i just using the 35 million dollar plane as a throwaway. so they go first.

Wait.... you actually get people to ride a boat to distract the enemy for you while you try to sneak past with another boat? I'd love to see that. I'd be rolling on the deck of the carrier laughing my ars off i bet. cheering yu on all the way. Going awww when your team m8 bites a hellfire. It is a pretty complex tactic.. and 4 minutes is a loooong time... If i stand in one spot for 4 minutes on a map i start to phase out.

Sooo 25 seconds..then the long ride to the spot between beach and airfield... Trying to think of a better way.. Maybe something with the super boat boost on the airplane tail in the water?
That could work... you go under the bridge...then left..hug the coast while dropping of squad mates along the way... It would be risky.. and your distraction squad would just have to keep heading for the north beach landing (and dying so they can respawn on you when your clear).. nah way to many ifs.. yours is probably safer.

You know what? when your a squad leader just grab a jet. run and spam the e button.. let the junkies wait a minutes. 13 second flight, if not less.. one really cool last second parachute pull and POOF! Instant squad. Instant mayhem. Instant fun.

( this is how i envision it... reality sadly is never quite the same ) XD

Hello folks, damn I should've paid closer attention to this topic, there's so much meat!

PREVIOUS PAGE

@mc65 boat wheelie is a glitch but usually not a bannable (a funny exploit, tells you something about how the player plays). Body armor is fixed per kit but I've recently learnt a competitive trick called "heavy medic": so the body armor (+1 bullet to kill) kits are assault, support and anti-tank. If you spawn with that kit, you have body armor, and if you pick up any other kit like medic, you retain the heavy body armor from the kit you spawned with! Amazing...

@prowler77 Speaking of competitive there's already a competitive bf2 community that is actually hosting a 5v5 cup with 7 teams starting January: BF2 Playerbase; the video under the link above was created in preparation to that competition. I have signed up and with no doubt I will learn lots of things - just like the heavy medic explained above - but I will also heavily be stomped on.

@mc65 no body armor is fixed based on what kit you spawn with. 2 bomb runs, by dropping half the payload (1 bomb only) but it's uncommon; there's no mid-air reload, you must return to airfield/carrier to re-arm and the blast radius (for infantry) is rather large (unless you are behind a solid wall as shield). The prone-roll-over is a grafical animation based on which direction you're strafing when you initiate the prone command.

@mc65 as for the aircraft and sniping, from Vista to Temple you can snipe easily (it's within view range) and even from Vista - Carrier you can pick out enemies (although disallowed by baserape rule); the accuracy of a scoped sniper is 100% with minor bullet drop to account for (and travel time). The only thing I wanted to add for aircraft is unfortunately despite your best efforts you aren't safe from getting spotted by an enemy player; that'll highlight you on the map for 10s I believe and so that kind of intel is a God-sent for aircraft pilots (no more see-to-shoot but know-to-shoot); that always remains as a possibility (along with commander manual spotting across the map, when the player threshold allows for commander selection).

On another plus side Shark we did enter a joint line on our site in the racing competition which includes LS and is doing reasonably well. So as long as it does regardless of whether we use your sites or not (during the competition) the contributions will keep coming in. It might however be in odd amounts dependent on the price of the winners....lol. I will pop off now and work it out Novembers donation. Thanks again for all the assistance great game, great site. smiling

No worries and thank you for sticking around and supporting us and the game that we love and share! Did you manage to invite Perskii to join this forum conversation? It would be interesting to hear his perspective, just like prowler77.

We should also set up a day/time where we play all together! It can also be on other legacy BF games, for instance I'll be playing BFVietnam this Saturday 23rd 8PM UTC and modded BF1942 Pirates on Saturday 30th 8PM UTC. Perhaps we can meet earlier on Saturday 30th or 6th to play some BF2 together.

Hi Prowler
Sorry we did not stick around for long tonight but we had been playing on Strike At Karkand (no pilots) and were logging off when Suze spotted you trying to get off the carrier and insisted we try and give you a hand. Suze ran the distraction etc and we hope you had a good laugh on the carrier whilst watching the show....lol. smiling We will keep an eye out for yourself and Busted and hopefully bump into you occasionally. smiling
Hi Shark
Thanks for the information we have lost most of the squad (they have gone back to CS where we feel obligated to join in) unhappy But SusieQ mcswb and myself will still pop on from time to time. I have typed a message to Perksii in game but maybe he did not see it. ? Also as I have not been on the LS servers much lately so I have not had the opportunity to chase him up but will keep an eye out for him. smiling Thanks for the invite but until I actually retire at the end of January I will unfortunately be working every Saturday and do not get in until after 7. unhappy
On the plus side you have a few horses running at the end of the month from your competition line so hopefully another donation will be coming your way. smiling

Mc and Suze! thanks for the backup! mc heading for beach.. Suzu and me throwing ourself on northbase. Team work makes the Dream work! I'll always check the ls servers first but you can also find me a lot on the weekend warriors server lately. Lot of larger player battles going there most of the time. Great for squad work. Been having some awsome battles with a full squad of peeps who joined me at their own free will...i know right? So i getting some good squad leader time in running all along wake island as a mobile spawn point. Hurts the point count for myself a bit when it comes to capture points but i making up for it with Swirley and Dumdum smiling, and seeing them all spawn on me and just go out and taking the point is sooo worth it. One of them gets killed... they respawn on me and go out again. balls to the walls baby! Anyway thanks Suze for having my back! thanks mc! Catch you soon.

Hi Prowler
Sorry we did not stick around tonight but with only nine players in game and the opposition having both helicopters and a plane it was a lost cause. unhappy It is still a brilliant game and the one the other night was a cracker but unfortunately those games are few and far between and most nights we struggle to find a balanced server. We will keep an eye out for you and if the game looks playable we may drop in for a chat..lol. smiling In the meantime we are going to take a step back from BF2 and play against some zombies (they can't fly)...lol. If we do not see you before enjoy your x -mas and all the best for the new year. I know you were looking for some players and Busted Buster, Militant Hippie and especially Perksii all play in the spirit of the game and will switch teams to make a game of it. smiling If we do get a BF2 server going in the new year we will drop back on and let you all know.
Hi Shark
As we will not be around much now here is the list of horses in the LS competition line that your donations now rely on. Best of luck. smiling
Marine Nationale, Facile Vega, Shiskin, Fastorslow, Gerri Colombe, Gaelic Warrior, Teahupoo, Corbetts Cross, Mirazur West and Ballyburn.
Wishing you and your team behind the site all the best for x -mas and the new year. smiling
