Ok, usually this kind of problem is caused by a network-kind of issue / block, either on your Router or on your Computer (i.e. Firewall). On a Windows environment, you should allow BF2.exe in the Firewall for both public and private networks.

Rarely rebooting the Router/Modem helps too; but also be aware that the game needs a direct connection to the internet: if you are behind a NAT Server or if your Router somehow does not connect directly to the internet, you may have problems.

If you are on a Laptop I would suggest taking it to another place (for example at a friend's house) and try to retrieve/create your account from there, see if it connects to the BF2Hub Account Server.

Your first post needs a bit of editing: I didn't understand if you were able to play online or not, with your current setup (Mac + Wine). If so, were you using the Revive Launcher or the Battlefield 2 for Mac release by battlelog.co? Or were you going through Wine as you are now?

Kind regards,

Thank you Sir! Yes I installed the game without any problem, I didn't had to change the wine settings or do anything actually for being able to install and play the game. I have installed bf2hub correctly and I actually have tried to run the game through the bf2hub launcher. I'm able to play offline with bots without problem so I really don't know what it may be.

Thanks for the support man, have a good one.

Hello prodseis and welcome to our Community. I will move this thread to the Battlefield 2 Support board upon your next reply, the URL will be the same though (in case you bookmarked this thread); otherwise check this board if you don't find the thread: https://www.lost-soldi...hp?site=forum&board=4.

Anyhow, you managed to install the game on Wine? That's great! But did you also follow the rest of the instructions and install the BF2Hub Client? Without it, the game has no online-capabilities.

Unfortunately the Client does not support Mac ... and I am not aware if it works through Wine. If you don't mind, would you let me know which guide you followed - if any - to get the game to work through Wine? Thanks a lot,

hey guys, so i have this problem, i have installed everything correctly but when im creating an account the game gets stuck on “connecting to account server”
I really dont know what to do since i have already tried creating other accounts or using old ones, it always get stuckes and never connects.
Im using a mac and im running the game with wine, before finding this website i had a pirate bf2 in wich i could online play offline, so i doubt the main problem is the computer but im aware that it may be part of the problem.
Thanks for your help.
