No, unfortunately I have no idea as I don't use it.
My specs don't allow me to run the game on high so I'm sticking with the default GUI.
What I was liking the most was the mute feature; I really wanted to try BF2 with it.
Yep the mute feature was interesting, I tried it but switched it off because I found the game spooky-quiet. The spam suppressor worked as intended, no enemy spotted sounds apart from when an enemy was actually spotted, so no attempts to spot.
Could you perhaps run the ULauncher, without the HDUI install and use the cmdline.txt with the -mute option to try it yourself?

But I thought then I'd lose my Servers' list; ain't that right now that the ULauncher seems outdated?

Yep, you would, but just to test it if you wanted to Of course you can still connect with IP/Hostname/Favourites.

Well I just found out that I was mistaken and hadn't heard about a new version of the ULauncher. Air-Zen just PMed me and I must say it's really nicely done, simple and very easy for the user to use different options. Also the login to the Battlelog network is much quicker than it used to be with the old version. Most importantly, the server list is showing up once again!
Trying all the different features is now much easier, just a click of your mouse button in the options before you boot the game.
It can be downloaded here if you are looking for it:

Just put it in your main BF2 Folder like before.

Well I appreciate how it doesn't even have a link to BF2Hub nor a BF2Hub Login paragraph, but why didn't he announce this yet? At least, I didn't see anything on the Forum; and I bet he's using one of his alternative accounts as well, right?

I heard Air-Zen fell out with the Battlelog staff.

Well yeah; I forgot to edit my post here after I actually noticed your thread on battlelog.co had all the informations.
Still, I'll only download it for the moment and make it rest in my software repository for the time being. U.U

Tried yesterday to get HD UI working, but no dice.
Enabling it get's me kicked. 5starLine mentioned that I maybe could install the older version to get the HD thingy stick, but only older version I could find was HDUI1.4 and it's password protected. And it's not the default bf2 password.
Also I belive I noticed some lag/rubberband/stutter with multicore/thread enabled, but I will test more this weekend.
So if anyone have an idea how to get HD UI working I will be superhappy!

I will try to help you with it this weekend. On my old laptop the multicore didn't run so well either, I really don't think it's necessary to use this, you don't really need multicore to run an old game like this.
I'm surprised version 2.0 doesn't install the HD Hud by default. Are you sure it's not just your eyesight? (Sorry, couldn't help myself).
I'll ask Air-Zen what's going on.
--EDIT--
http://ulauncher.tk/EN/manual.html
Read the part about High-Definition UI. It won't let me copy it, selecting is disabled. So the HD UI also includes the HUD as far as I can tell, it's not just the menus.
If you read the part at the bottom of the page it will explain about modified content kicks. Unfortunately, what has been totally forgotten here is that PB is useless and nobody should use it anymore.
I think your best bet is going to be doing what I did and actually installing the HD Hud files with the old ULauncher.
