BF2VoiceSetup app hardly works for anyone with something other than Windows XP. The "test your mic" option in BF2 settings doesn't work as well, just fyi in advance.
Confirm that you have both in-game audio sliders in audio settings to the max and that you have the checkbox for voip ticked and transmit and receive sliders maxed.
If yes, check if you have the microphone icon in the tray on the taskbar with info that BF2 is using your mic (bf2.exe must be running while you check) It's easier to check for this running the game in windowed mode
If the microphone isn't shown you may have access for apps turned off or something else set incorrectly with windows
Open Settings and click on System- Display, sound, notifications. On the left side highlight Sound
Scroll down to input. Tap on your microphone while watching" test your microphone" slider. It should be sliding, to your touch of the microphone
If it isn't, click choose your input device, change it to another listed and tap again. If it persists to not show function, check for muted function, or try another microphone
If it is responding to a tap, click advanced sound options- App volume and device preferences
If BF2 is shown in app area, make sure it's maxed out. You can also try using explicit realtek, instead of default, that is shown. Default theoretically should be fine.
Go back one page from here. Scroll under Advanced sound options and click microphone privacy settings.
Make sure Allow apps to access your microphone is on.
Scroll down some more and make sure allow desktop apps to access your microphone is on.
BF2 should be shown and currently in use.
If all this is good, voip should function for you in game. You have to join a server, squad and try to talk to test.
If it's working, adjust all in game sound, transmit, receive sliders, to your preferences.
