I understand this one... it would mean €20-30 more expenses a year...
Depends how many slots, could be significantly more. Either way, there's no point throwing good money away for the sake of it. Especially when Donations have only hit the monthly target once.

I don't think you're right on this one, never had any "bad sound quality" feelings on TS3...
That's nice, we don't all have the same ears either so not everyone will notice. My hearing ability is very strong.

What kind of "security" are you pointing at here?

Disagree, TS3 looks way better... Ventrilo is like '80s interface lol back to windows 98
Depends on your Windows Version / Desktop Graphics Settings. On Windows 10 it looks much better than the nasty TS3 UI to me:

I was agreeing with you until that last post Star. Can't help but notice the pretty sarcastic tone.
Never had any sound problems with TS3. Obviously it wouldn't be as popular among gamers if the sound quality was inferior.
Concerning the look, it is true that TS3 looks more professional. However i don't really care cause I'm not in Ventrilo or TS3 to look at the program itself. It's for communicating ans that's all I care about.
I will continue to use Ventrilo, I just hope that it will be more frequently used.

No sarcasm, just facts.
I didn't say sound problems, I said lower sound quality which is certainly what I have experienced with Teamspeak.
Those Ventrilo vulnerabilities are for older versions which we do not use, either client side or server side and there are not nearly as many of them. Take a look at the search results yourself before sending a lmgtfy in future please.
Having looked into Teamspeak there is a Non-Profit License option: http://npl.teamspeakusa.com/ts3npl.php for self-hosting which could meet our needs but if you click through to "Continue to NPL Application" you will see that they even consider Donations as "profit"... Ridiculous when they are 100% spent towards our running costs. To apply for this license I would have to temporarily hide all Donation stuff on the site...

If S_h_a_r_k_93 or Rico946 want to make this a Community Vote then I'm happy to go with the outcome of that. If Teamspeak is what everyone wants and would increase active players as you have both said then I will apply for the license and temporarily hide Donation stuff on the site, then I will have to work on a new Teamspeak Server Status module for the site. It will be a pain in the arse but possible.
I wasn't aware that there was a Non-Profit License for Teamspeak.

The question is, is it worth the effort, will people be more active on TS or would it just be the same ... ?!

I would say, that there would be other players from our servers.

Worth the try at least. As I said, I'm mostly only with Rico on Ventrilo. Considering the amount of admins that are active on the servers yet not on Ventrilo, i can't help but wonder how we can convince non-admins let alone non-enlisted soldiers to ever download ventrilo.
Not that I'm a standard player, but when I first joined this website I saw the 10-step process to download Ventrilo and I was like.. Yeah I'll stick to TS3 I know it's not that hard, but at first it looked pretty complicated. Maybe it's easier to use a program a lot of players already have and convince them to just join our server instead of downloading a new program.
If it fails, at least we tried to bring the community closer together.

As I said already, it's all about the time that you are online playing. Most evenings are not good times for me to play so I play later. At these times you'll regularly find myself, %CIB%KissMyGun & b29az on Ventrilo. Often we are joined by others (non-Members/Admins) from this community too. S_h_a_r_k_93 is also on Ventrilo late some nights with us. It's not a case of nobody else using it let me assure you.
However, as I also said, if S_h_a_r_k_93 or Rico946 want to edit this topic and turn it into a vote, we'll let the community decide.
