Like I've mentioned before, I think changing from Ventrilo to TS3 is something that needs to be discussed

I made a little video in which I try to show my problem with Ventrilo.


I know Star prefers pushing an extra button so he doesn't hear everything from other players, but I agree to disagree

I think switching to TS3 could really get more players to communicate ingame:

Of course Ventrilo doesn't pick up anything, when you have your Sensitivity set to 60! I agree with you though, TeamSpeak is preferred by most of my italian mafia folks too and it was really hard to have them install Ventrilo and set it up properly.

I have my Sensitivity set to 15 when I talk normally, and to 5 when I need to whisper; you can test the Sensitivity with the Monitor and Test buttons in Setup. But of course 5tarLine is the one who actually manages the Ventrilo Server so it's up to him to acknowledge our tastes and think about switching accordingly.

I didnt change anything its all standard settings.
Ventrilo is indeed not very known or at least not in bf2.

I'm just making a suggestion to improve gameplay, considering the lack of admins and non-LS members in our ventrilo server 95% of the time.

Considering rico, carbon, clints, pegasus, remy and i already all have TS is just a sign that its a well known program among players and I never heard anything bad about it.

Star is da baws, absolutely. I think that at the end of the day however we all just want LS to grow and become a close community and I think switching to TS3 might be a good thing to help achieve that If Star decides tomorrow that our new logo will be a strap-on dildo we will all have to accept it too, but be aware that I will start a new topic in community discussion

I like the idea of changing to TS3. So basically it all comes from the fact that i like to get in touch with people and communicate while playing. Its not like you shall talk all the time, just having the ability to ask questions and talk to your teammates.

Some of you mentioned they are on their own servers while playing, talking to friends or whatever so why not match things up on TS? It's a well more known platform than Ventrilo and i don't see any problem in just using a TS server instead of ventrilo.

Setting up Ventrilo is one of the reasons most players on LS aint using it or whatever, what do I know ... I'm not on ventrilo all the time but i always keep my eye on the live thingy on the homepage, to see whats going on but its mostly ... nothing. (Except for baz and shark).

Furthermore, I don't want to bind a key for push to talk in squad AND push to talk in ventrilo to reach all the players i need to. Theres no point in having a voice server when everybody is using his own. I'd like to see this community drawn together, it's just way more fun to play when you know the people ...

However, it's a suggestion, just like sth. We can talk about.

The reality is that Ventrilo is not really catching on, so I'm guessing I'm not the only one that isn't the biggest fan of Ventrilo... I can try to change the sensitivity, maybe that will fix my problems already, but why make everyone download a program when most of the BF2 players already have TS3?

I'm just trying to discuss the issue that we can all see, that there are almost never people on Ventrilo, and if there are it's like one or two admins.

Back in the good old days TS3 was pretty popular in my clan and with good reason
So I'm hoping that we could get something like that in LS.

Ps: Shark: what sensitivity works best then? Like I said, it's the standard settings, I didn't change anything to the sensitivity

I must agree with Belgero now. TS3 is really better and easier to use and it's owned by more players.

We (SW-Clan) use TS3 as well since many years. We are used to it and many of my mates don't want to change something that is established. I didn't even know about Ventrilo before I joined this community, nevertheless I think it is very good though. Ventrilo and TS3 are both great VoIP applications, but TS is actually more popular. Personally I would appreciate a change to TS3 because it is more convenient for me, but if you want to stick by Ventrilo it is ok for me as well.
