Hi all,

Been getting spikes of around 550 on wake for long periods this week. Nothings changed here, still on wireless like i always am and everything else is ok until i join the server where i start at my usual 30ish ping then it freezes, lags sometimes disconnects and generally unplayable more times than not. Off the server my usual ping is around 15- 20 so can't see it being my end ?
Any ideas what's going on this week or have admin introduced a script that detects the best looking bloke on the server and tries to block them hahaha!
Thanks

thanks for your report, I'm sure you will find some help here! smiling

Can you play on the other LS servers (Gulf of Oman for example) or does the issue just affect the Wake server?

Well, are the other players experiencing lag spikes too, or not?
Is your connection shared by somebody else, like family?

How can you know other members of your family are not connecting to the Wireless as well, starting to watch YouTube videos, initiating file downloads, mail downloads ... And then wireless introduces a bit of concern too. smile Do you get the same lag spikes if you try to play through the LAN cable?

Best regards,

Ok thought i'd post my embarrassing answer to my problem as although it makes me look a dumb ass hopefully it will stop someone else looking a jerk !

Discovered when i have my mobile plugged into the PC to charge or on the PC table it sends my ping through the ceiling.

Yes, it was as simple as that and it was only by accident i realised something as normal as charging a phone or leaving it next to my PC whilst gaming screws it up.

Please feel free to kick me smiling

@WOoKies_Fossil
Dunno if you're playing on WIFI, but if you do... Don't get any devices using wifi between your PC and router wink
Any devices between your router and computer will cause less connection giving you lagg!
Just think about someone standing in your sunlight, it results in shade on your body... Same for devices in front of your PC :-)

Whilst a Wireless device or other signals such as Mobile Data physically located between a Router and your PC could cause interference. More important is the general activity of other users sharing your Internet Connection, regardless of where they are located in your living space. For example, someone connected to the same WiFi network as you and sharing the main IN/OUT Bandwidth into your household streaming a movie, downloading or using any other Network Intensive Applications will cause your ping to go through the roof. You'll feel this even more significantly if your Internet Speed is slow. I have 100/100Mbit but still feel the impact of someone downloading/streaming. You can limit other peoples connection speeds but it's not a very nice thing to do...

It's always recommended to connect your PC to the router with a network cable for gaming. Both for stability, speed, lowest latency and reducing any external interference from other signals.

I actually did not understand what the problem was. Laugh
You only plugged in the phone for charging and it affected your ping??

Holy shit that escalated quickly. amused
