Hello: a little oddity for admin smile

in the list of movies battlerecorder, community, every movie is noted with its start time: but when I download the movie, its time is different; Is this to a relationship with your server? Adjustment with the time zone?

thanks for reply

Hello cataly123,

what are you talking about? I mean, I understood what you mean, but it's not like that. :'D Can you show us an example? Cause I have tried on Wake and the file that you download has the same name as the name of the hyperlink you click on: http://www.lost-soldiers.org/demos/1/?C=M;O=D

Perhaps on the other Servers you have spotted a demo file that has a different name, when downloaded? Let us know, we're here for you! smile

EDIT: Okay I have read it again. Yeah, the time that you see inside the game, in the Comunity tab, is your current time. But when you download the file, the name of the file contains the starting time relative to the time of the Server (so UTC I think).

For example in-game I see 21:20, when I download the file it is labeled as 20:20. Another example: auto_2016_10_12_19_49_59.bf2demo is a match I have played on 12th of October 2016, starting at 20:49 Italian Time. The Server, compared to me, is one hour behind; so that match started on 19:49 Server Time (UTC).

I live in UTC+1, in which timezone do you live?
The Server lives here wink http://www.worldtimese.../current_time_in_UTC.aspx

Now I understand: thank you s.h.a.r.k.93smile: your explanation is quite clear: I'm living in the time zone of Brussels: but with the summer and winter hours, I get lost a little ..

Can you tell me on what time zone is the server: as my ping is often 47, it should not be very far from home, I think.

Aaaah! Sorry, I did not immediately see your last two lines: London; It is perfect: but I often wonder how do the Americans or Chinese to play well with a ping, necessarily more important !!

Germany? How is possible that American players have no laggs? Interesting, because sometimes I am not able to play on overseas servers well.

Because I know what I'm doing, the server is setup perfectly and optimised, hardware & network are top quality. wink

Any lags are caused by external network interference / attacks on us or other Servers at our Datacenter.

In the future I may try and move us to a London location so our many American & Canadian players can get a slightly better ping but not definite and no time soon.

But don't get me wrong, it's as good as it can be for them, you still feel the difference between playing with 15 ping or 100 ping. I played on Weekend Warriors for years with Pings of around 100 or more, even a 10ms drop can be noticeable, so when my internet got upgraded to a faster speed and routing to the server in the US improved and I would sometimes ping 70/80 it was noticeably a little bit better, particularly in terms of things like hit registration with aircraft and annoying glitches in the game happening less often like the TV Missile getting stuck.
