Looks like it's a problem to locate your Documents folder, did you redirect "My Documents" to another non-standard folder or network path? Tell us your story ...

I have this error, I have done the search thing and tried all the remedies. What I have now noticed is...I am using W10 and My Documents is now just Documents. The BF2 folder is in there and I did try as a last resort the suggestion of creating the folder, copying profiles, placing it in the folder then creating the bf2.soldier folder and moving the contents from Profile into there.
This was all done on the basis of the person using the term Documents and not My Documents. Is there any further groundbreaking news for W10 users that might help?

Early versions of Windows refer to the folder that holds your documents as "My Documents." However, all of the recent versions of Windows (Vista and later) now refer to this folder as "Documents." Although they have different names, they are the same folder.
Go into computer. From there you should see your personal folders shown. Right click Documents folder, choose properties, then location tab. The location it shows, is where the Battlefield 2 folder that contains your profiles goes.
You can click move it and it'll prompt to transfer all files and info with it, which you choose. You can move it again, back to where it was afterwards, answering same, move it all.
If you had a documents folder or my documents folder elsewhere, containing files, make the move into IT's location, then back again. This will merge the two folders back into one.
This should correct any issues.
