I put out the question already on a support forum a year ago but got no answer how to fix it. So long story short. I start my BF2Hub and the the BF2 Game or a Mod of BF2. When i open the Taskmanager it shows that BF2.exe is running but it stays at 302.xxx bytes. It seems like it stops calculating.
So again i click the shortcut of BF2 and now the game starts running and i can log in. Also now i have two processes of BF2 running in the taskmanager with 1.xxx.xxx bytes. It is not a big thing because i can close one process (the not counting one) when the game is running, i even can do this while the game is loading but it is a kind of annoying.
Okay now, when i close the game, i can restart it by clicking the shortcut once. Any suggestions on this? I'm on Windows 7

If you're on Windows Seven, it's a new bug that has been introduced last year due to Microsoft halting a technology called Games Explorer after a Windows 10 update ... the microsoft server that provides this technology has been shut down.
You can read more about it here, as well as how to fix the problem (you will have to taper with the Windows Registry, but it's an easy fix); this fix is of course already bundled in our installer thanks to PvtStandOn for finding out what the problem was.

I'll give it a shot and respond when it's done.

Awesome!
It was a bit tricky because the key was on a different location as mentioned from Pouyou-pouyou in his post.
So i searched for
SGamesWebService.asmx
in the Registry deleted
https://games.metaserv...mes/SGamesWebService.asmx
and changed it to
127.0.0.1
.
Restarted my PC and played right away on your Server for two three minutes to finisch my Stats-Link.
Many Thanks

P.S. so for me the Regkey was:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\GameUX\ServiceLocation
Games"="https://games.metaservices.microsoft.com/games/SGamesWebService.asmx

No problem mate, like I said the installer that you have downloaded from our Forums already takes care of this new problem that came up recently, with Windows Seven machines. Yes that is indeed the key, what we do is we remove it entirely; but now I know that swapping the endpoint URL (down) with
127.0.0.1
will work as well.
Thread /moved to support board.

The installer doesn't remove it entirely. It does as the post states and changes HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\GameUX\ServiceLocation to 127.0.0.1.
It does NOT alter HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\GameUX\ServiceLocation
Good find.
P.S. an additional article about Game Explorer can be found here:

Thanks
