Hi guys! What do you think about a Mod Event on one of our Servers? [past events listed here]
I was researching a little bit on Mod DB and there's 258 mods available for Battlefield 2.

I guess there's only a dozen; maybe 2 which are playable on multiplayer.
But, how about to get into a little bit of nostalgia? There's mods/maps like:

 Cat has put a lot of work into this map and it's really a shame it's not played.

If there are enough people who are willing to play with us, we could give it a try!
Everybody just has to install the mod which will be used for the event, before attending it.

We could notify the people about it (in Discord?!), so that everybody has enough time to set their games up beforehand and is able to join the event without major trouble.

I really really really would fancy trying some Zombie Mods with you all!
I tried Omnicide Final (a classic), Death Is Alive and Project Zombie Strike.

Last time I checked (which is a really long time ago), the most promising and active one was the last one!

Well, there ain't much I can say about the Heat of Battle mod. It is VERY Excellent! It adds new gun animations, models, and sounds. The weapon damage has been changed to be more realistic. (It is nice to be able to kill an enemy player with one sniper shot to the chest rather than two)

Tanks and I.F.V.s now have several types of ammo to choose from: AP, Heat , Guided-rounds, and canister rounds (shotgun burst). It is an awesome blend of realism and vanilla arcade BF2 style gameplay making for a very addictive experience.

I tried running a dedicated server, but joining players receive an error after loading 100%.



I read on other BF2 forum websites posts that the error is usually caused by the server and the clients not having the same files. But mine do, So I think this error is cause by the mod, since I have successfully hosted dedicated servers of the vanilla BF2 and other BF2 mods. Heat of Battle is the first mod to give me this problem.

Any ideas or thoughts folks?

Hey Guys!

Heat of Battle looks good. But, it looks to me like a slightly remastered version of regular bf2.
If you guys like to try Heat of Battle im up for it. We could revive it, if it´s not dead yet. Unless we figure out how it will work for everyone participating <3

But, i was looking for something completely different. New maps/different gameplay ,wise ?
It´s all about fun at the end of the day. I would like to play a zombie mod as Shark says.

Have you ever played zombie mods in cod ?



it only starts with 1 or 2 zombies who got to knife players to infect them. Until everybody is a zombie. It´s pretty intense <3. It can be very hard at the beginning.
You have to find a way to flank your enemies , because they all will stick together.

Once you break through, there´s absolute madness going on.

@ S_h_a_r_k_93 Are they´re Mods like in COD in BF2 ? Omnicide , Death Is Alive or Project Zombie Strike ?

@Noddynod443 I have no clue how to get it to run on a server... But those several weapon types in APC´s and Tanks sound awesome aswell. I have played PoE a lot in the past, but it´s dead now. And it´s kinda similar. Except for new/different factions, vehicles, sounds, textures etc. xD
Dont know about the ttk there. Well, maybe not to similar xD

@ Dillmann AiX is Co-op only aint it ? We need a Mod which is playable by everyone :/

Well my idea in order to somehow try to help Noddynod443 was that - in case we manage to find/revamp one of our unranked servers for these types of events - we can try to install that mod and see if he is capable of joining. I don't know if going for such extreme changes will be appreciated though, personally I am quite skeptical but I wouldn't want to kill your buzz.

What doesn't work for me perhaps works for the rest of the Community! It can't hurt to try, I believe. Regarding the zombie mods those are what I really like, albeit they aren't as good as the COD original zombie gameplay (they have their realism problems ... ); BUT, Dennis, they're all co-op mods I think! Perhaps only in DIA you can play as a zombie; I'm not sure because I tried them a very long time ago.


Regarding mods I've just seen this one on Facebook, it's amazingly different from the original. www.facebook.com/videos/ It's called battl333, by diav333l (and it's not on ModDB, I am afraid it's Chinese. Perhaps @guocuozuoduo can help us find it ).

I mean we can give Heat of Battle a try. We have such a lot of opportunities to play with. This is atleast a right way to start. But, i guess we have to wait for an ok from David? If he likes to support this idea, in having a mod event overall ?

Too bad to hear that those zombie mods have different gameplay. How many people will be able to play in co-op at once ? does anybody know ?

Shark are you with me in testing a few mods who got mentioned out ? If there´s still server´s up for it ? Would somebody else be interested ?
