Battlefield 2Fast mouse speed

I started playing BF2 again about 5 weeks ago. I couldn't get online so I played single player a lot. One time someone snuck up on me while I was on a big gun and I panicked and start hitting every button that was even remotely close to the right button. Ever since then my mouse speed is way to fast. If I go to turn 90* I end up doing a 380. Get a little dizzy sometimes trying to runaround. So bad I don't even try to fight on the ground. I can only fly or be gunner in the helicopter. Any one have any ideas? I have uninstalled BF2 3 times and gone deep into files to remove any remnants of it. Still didn't fix it. I am at a lost.

Yeah, those bots can be assholes.
I never heard of any way to alter mouse ingame, cant you just alter the mouse sensitivity slider in the options menu ? or just the yaw ?
Did you also delete the bf2 folder in users/documents?
Is the increased mouse speed only in BF2 ?
Do you have a dpi button on your mouse that you maybe pressed in your panic ?
Or mouse software that has hotkeys that you maybe activated ?

It only happens in the game. I went into mouse settings and slowed it way down but as soon as I went in it was the same. Yes I deleted users.documents. It is so bad I can't even play.

Try & remove your account and then relogin with it so that the battlefield 2 folder in the documents is created again. Then launch the game & choose the sensitivity you want. After that go to the battlefield 2 folder, then profiles, then 0001 and make the controls.con file read-only. By doing that, your settings will not change after you exit the game or when trying to change them, but if you wish to change them, go again to the controls.con file and uncheck the read-only box.

I don't know how to make it read-only.

Right-click > Properties > Read-only (at the bottom) > Ok
