Hello All,

As usually I like to start my topic with Beautiful Work and Community on this binary world we are in tongue, I have some points that I would like to share and would like your feedback / Knowledge / thoughts about, I will divide them into points so that the reply can be points too:

1. Regarding the Website/Forum, what is the platform that is being used? Do you guys host your own or you rent a server and domain? Reason I am asking is because I build websites and deal with many server providers, so my questions is just in case I can give a cookie recommendation if it finds it self helpful and also I am just curious.

2. Regarding Ventrillo, I have noticed that Ventrillo server is 99% of the time empty since your Server VoIP works perfect, my recommendation here is to dump it or upgrade to Team speak, team speak attracts more people and most of gamers have it installed by default, nothing against Ventrillo, but Team Speak is more professional lets say tongue

3. BF2 Server Wake Island, I have been on the server many times, my recommendations is as follow:
- When the map ends, please switch teams randomly, there has been hours yesterday when the teams were just stacked, and it was going on and on for rounds
- The rule regarding kicking for attacking grounded vehicles should be removed, since it confuses people in general, I believe that we can attack grounded plans and choppers, a couple of scenarios yesterday for example, the attack chopper of china had a single player in it and he was flying a bit and switching to tv then landing, it confuses the f35s whether to shoot or not and even the cobra, just a recommendation.

4. Gulf And Dalian Server, what do you say if you just combine both servers and make them one, or in fact just make a server and call it Air Maps, and another server INF only which you already have? Reason I am saying this is to lower the cost per month, and mainly we have the most player I believe in Wake.

5. Special Forces, I saw some people saying to add more players, the only issue with adding more players is the map size, in general, SF has less players nowadays playing it, so to have a 32 player map with 5 players in it is just boring, is it possible to maintain the 16 player map size and increase the player count to 32?

To 3rd:
Id die to protect the vehicle rules, i think its the major thing (except fot the lovely community and the great connection) that makes this server way better than all the others.
If you start your jet you want to be able to actually start it and then get in a dog fight innit?
There are pilots who could take you down on the runway every single time, regardless of what you do ...
Look at the official battlelog servers, its a mess ... people rape the shit out of every base and there is no chance of getting into the air sometimes.

3. To A point I know what you mean specially with the JET I have seen hell when the other team has a good pilot the J10 will never leave you are right

Hello Cobra-J82,

1. I believe we've rented the domain, so we're also renting the web host. For your suggestions though you should refer to 5tarLine which will be absent for a few more days; feel free to message him when you see he's active.

3. I believe currently the Teams are just switched entirely, but how would we randomize them? Are you talking about this checkbox perhaps?

4. I really like the suggestion, we used to have a Dalian Server but it used to be empty. I've tried to revive the Oman Server by making it smaller and it seemed to work out for a bit, but the majority of the people I've gotten feedback from are missing the 64-size perks (so I've changed the map size and increased the Players to 48 ).

5. Actually they're all asking for larger maps as well, in order to have more vehicles and increase the fun. I personally like it as it is now, CQC, but I'll see if I can change it to another setup this weekend.

i think after airfield is lost then after u kill the jet and chopper it wont spawn anymore for the US side, i think thats fair otherwise its just rape and people leave..

I think it is Great the Way it is ! Some other servers on BF2 need that Like the S. America Ones But not Here .

5. Yea I don't know if there is a way to maintain the map size 32 but have 64 players, because with 32 players you will have some choppers and stuff, the 16 seems to have minimal vehicles

Okay so, we've been running randomizing teams on Wake Island for the past two days and it wasn't really welcomed; there's a few pros and cons to this, for example randomizing doesn't always translate to balancing ... And for example if you're China and you lose, so you want a revenge as attacker in the next round but you get switched back to China, that suxx and people start to attempt to switch manually.

Thus I've turned it off for the moment; perhaps Wake Island is not the best map to have the randomization option turned on? Because it's a one-map Server, so the round keep repeating itself. So I figured randomization might be good on infantry Servers, where you have few rounds on a lot of different maps.

Regarding Dalian and Oman I am still thinking about it; surely the Oman Server is not as populated as the Wake one, but people seem to like Oman eventually. The Dalian one-map Server we used to have was empty most of the times.

I have also changed the Special Forces Server to have 32-size maps and maximum of 24 Players for the momet. My idea is that if it starts filling to thr brink, if people like it, then we'll expand it over time. But first it needs to become popular, mainstream ...

Okay fun fact: yesterday Galactic|Pegaus asked me to turn randomizing off? WTF! Laugh
Maybe we should create a separate topic for that, to talk about it and analyze it.

Finally I've turned Server #3 into "Lost-Soldiers.org | Oman & Dalian"; let's test it.
4 rounds each, no randomizing, 64 map size, 48 player cap, 2,5 hours time limit.

The Vehicle Rotation Server has been changed slightly too: scrapped Dalian, Sharqui and Mashtuur from the rotation, reduced map size from 64 to 32, and player cap from 64 to 48. Rounds increased from 1 to 2.

Yea I guess you are right Randomizing is better left off specially on wake plus after I read what you said, most of the people in there know each other and want to play together on the same team, specially when you have different clans who want to be on the same side for 4 - 5 rounds of playing.

Also, great job on the servers and maps change, will see how it turns out.

So you're addressing a mechanics of the game aren't you?

I'm not yet an expert on these but basically you stated that if USMC captures Airfield, and you take down China's remaining J-10's and Z10, no Jet nor Attack Helo will spawn at Airfield for the USMC to use?

I believe one F-18 will spawn and that's all. I am not aware if the F-35 spawns on the Carrier will behave differently, when either Airfield is capped or the F-18 spawns.

But yeah, most of our Players enjoy the Wake Server because it is protected from base raping. Also, the new "Oman & Dalian" Server seems to have been accepted well.

We don't really release too much detail on this stuff in public but happy to discuss more in private if you are interested. The Domain is ours purchased/leased for 2 years. The site is on rented web-hosting, yes. If anyone has a recommendation regarding the website i'm always keen to hear it, it's a long term WIP.

It's been a bit quiet lately but various people do connect at different times, sometimes when our European Soldiers are fast asleep as well. I don't really agree that Team Speak is more professional to be honest but i believe others have already answered this. I left it in the hands of: Italy S_h_a_r_k_93 & Netherlands Rico946 to start a community vote if they felt the discussion warranted it.

Thanks for your recommendations but Wake is our longest running and all-time most popular server, the settings have already been tweaked and tweaked rigorously over a long-period of time by myself and the majority of people here are happy with them. The Attacking Grounded Aircraft with Jets rule which you are referring to is unique to our server and most people love it.

Not a bad suggestion but the Oman server is intended to be Oman only and will stay that way, I've set Dalian as the first map in the rotation as a compromise, we could set it to 2 rounds of Dalian as well potentially. Until recently we had a Dalian only server as Italy S_h_a_r_k_93 mentioned but it wasn't overly successful so it's been switched to the vehicle rotation.

SF certainly has less players nowadays but it seems our SF Server is growing more popular by the day and is quite often full now. A full Server is the right time to increase the Max Players as far as i'm concerned but the Special Forces server is Italy S_h_a_r_k_93 's baby, like Wake is mine so it's up to him.

They are referring to a script Weekend Warriors wrote where after Airfield was lost (+3 other flags if i remember correctly) and if the Chinese team were losing by a certain amount of tickets, the USMC Attack-Aircraft on the carrier would not re-spawn after the Chinese team managed to destroy them and until they managed to re-cap airfield. This may not be exactly correct, i'm struggling to remember now but it's close to how it functioned, i may have some details slightly off and can't be arsed to look it up. Instead of the Cobra & F-35Bs Jeeps would spawn in their place.

I have asked Viper from Weekend Warriors multiple times if they would be willing to share/sell some of their unique scripts but they have no desire to help us, shame to let some great scripts die when they no longer run a server anyway but it's their property so i have to respect that and suppose we'll have to go back to working on more of our own.
