| Info/Description: | Summary This is a pure dogfighting map, no infantry mode (check MountainsInfantry if interested). Heightmap and gameplay is optimized for aerial combat only.  Don't be afraid of the file size, the map uses very detailed textures from real aerial orthophotos over a digital elevation model of the Italian Alps (Trentino).  The term "extended" refers to the permeability of the combat area: an astounding 12km2 are available to fly, for the first time in Battlefield 2! Installation – download the file and extract it in your Downloads folder; – you should now have a folder in Downloads called MountainsDogfightExtended containing 5 items; – Copy the MountainsDogfightExtended folder itself and paste it under C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\levels\ Pro tip: you can extract the contents of the archive directly to your \Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\levels\ folder using 7-zip or WinRAR. Playing This map can be played in multiplayer conquest on our Custom Maps server, in singleplayer conquest/co-op and even in LAN with your friends by hosting a local server. 32 bots is the recommended value to enjoy the map in singleplayer. The map creator cataly63 also recommends toggling the HUD off for a very immersive experience (open the console and issue renderer.drawHud 0) as well as editing your localization file to remove the "out of bounds" warning. Black Spots on Terrain Notice: if you get black flickering spots on the terrain you have to turn off dynamic shadows in your video settings to get rid of them! |
