| Info/Description: | Summary Arctic Warfare introduces snowy and cold environments to Battlefield 2. Featured Maps • Rocky Mountains  Rocky Mountains is a large-scaled map taking place in Canada. Specialized Russian forces are battling against the Canadian Army, trying to get control over a bunker. It contains important coordinates, that both sides need to get as fast as possible. • Yukon Bridge  Additional Custom Maps • Frostbite  NOTE for low-end users: this map got a very high view distance of both overgrowth and fog, this means you may get serious lag without a mid-end to high-end system! EDIT 2020: the map was optimized, tackling fps/scope lag without sacrificing view distance, at least it's playable now. • Christmas Hill The US team needs to defend the last Christmas tree on the hill, whilst the MEC team has to get control of it! And for the 2020 Christmas Event many more maps have been included like Alpine Resort, Blitzkrieg, Frostbite Night and more. P.S. playing with Low Terrain video setting will result in crash • Winter Wake Island [NEW! 2023] For the 4th edition we've added this extra map, you can either re-download the whole bundle we've put together (and spent countless hours improving it after each year's edition), or you can download this new map individually here. Installation – download the file and extract it (in your Downloads folder); – copy the extracted sub-folder (Arctic_Warfare) into your mods folder (default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\) so that you obtain C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\Arctic_Warfare\ Playing To activate the mod you can either go through the usual way (main menu > community > custom games > arctic_warfare > activate) or you can create a custom shortcut to BF2.exe and then append these parameters in the target field: +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/Arctic_Warfare +ignoreAsserts 1 (n.b. there is a default shortcut in the zip file). Then to join the server either use the IP & Port listed on our homepage (scroll down to see the Custom Maps server in the list), or you can configure your game-mode filter and internet filters this way in order to see the server! If you have trouble installing this modification or patching it, feel free to contact S_h_a_r_k_93 either through the Forum or by using one of these channels. DOWNLOAD NOTICE: download the file directly from one of the mirrors at the bottom for faster speed, as the file is too big to download via LS website. VIDEO SETTINGS NOTICE: don't play with Low Terrain video setting because some maps will crash, try Medium Terrain. If you still crash, increase other Low settings to Medium. |
